Hello, Welcome to Saint Velvet
Welcome to
Saint Velvet
Whether you are looking for fashion inspiration, catching up on the news, trying to land your dream job, digging into your faith, or maybe just saving up to book the best getaway ever; SV is here for you.

Who wants to talk about Faith and Fashion, Money, and Politics?... ehem, this girl and a lot of others too. We're all asking the same questions so let's talk about things that don't usually get discussed in the same place.

Here you will find practical tips, stories, insights, encouragement and love to move you closer to God. Ultimately my hope is that everyone might know the love of God, receive the grace of our Father in heaven, and live in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

June works Pro Bone – O for SV. Sometimes after a ruff week she enjoys pawtying and sipping pupcardi like it’s her birthday. Equally, she enjoys getting bountiful amounts of naps and treats during her lunch breaks when she’s not ruffsponding to emails.
Shannon

I'm fueled by my passion for Jesus, and hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action.

Growing up in a conservative household, I felt fashion was off limits. My parents were both very frugal. It was constantly turn off the lights. Don't waste water. I was the youngest, but no one ever had new clothes except for the back to school shopping we would get a few new things. We never really went on vacation. My parents were divorced so I went two different churches and always loved it there and felt safe and genuinely happy when worshiping Jesus. It was all about helping others and being a good steward of money and not thinking about outward appearances, which was very healthy, but I went a little too far and didn't realize that there could be joy and love for fashion. As I got older I realized it wasn't about vanity or being a shopaholic, it was freedom of expression.
When it comes to politics and being eager to have a great career, I always felt I needed to reassure everyone that I still loved Jesus and it’s OK. When I was in my early 20s I realized that I’m not as comfortable with this topic as I thought so I wrote a blog post, and it actually got a good amount of attention by my peers so I realized these are things that other people struggle with too. People tend to see money, faith, politics, and fashion as things that can’t co-exist but I think they can. At the end of the day, it's about feeling good about yourself and knowing where you stand with Christ.
