Mindset quiz

Updated: Jan 2, 2020

Which of these do you agree with?

A) Intelligence is fixed at birth.

B) Some people are creative, others aren’t.

C) You can become a world-class expert through enough practice.

D) You can change your personality.

If you agreed with the first two statements, you’re coming from a fixed mindset.

If you agreed with the second two, you’ve got a growth mindset. So what does this mean for you?

The Fixed Mindset - people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They also believe that talent alone creates success—without effort. People with this mindset also believe that talent alone leads to success, and effort is not required.

Alternatively there's a Growth Mindset - people have the belief that their learning and intelligence can grow with time and experience. You believe that experience and practice count for a lot more than your genetics. When people believe they can get smarter, they realize that their effort has an effect on their success, so they put in extra time, leading to higher achievement.

Why is mindset important in developing positive habits?

Your fixed beliefs about you will hold you back from making positive change. If you have a trait that you believe cannot be changed, such as your intelligence, your weight, or your bad habits, you will avoid situations that could possibly be uncomfortable or that you think that are useless.' If you're struggling with a fixed mindset, let's DEVELOP growth. 1. Acknowledge and embrace your weaknesses. 2. View challenges as opportunities. 3. Know your learning style and use the right learning strategies. 4. Remember that the brain has the ability to change throughout life. 5. Prioritize learning over seeking approval. 6. Focus on the process instead of the end result. 7. Choose learning well over learning fast. 8. Need for improvement does not mean failure. 9. Reflect on your learning.10. Cultivate grit.Understand that any growth is going to be a process but you can make it happen.
