Hey Ladies,
with great excitement i'd like to announce that I am engaged, Finally, EEEEKK!!

Ever since I can remember, the thought of getting engaged was both dreamy yet terrifying since I would have to plan a wedding and.. bridal party. Now that i'm here and this is REAL. I've been researching and trying to ease my mind of what the heck I'm going to do. before we go any farther, can I let you in on a secret? (Okay, it's not really a secret at all.) There's no right way to get married! I really do love the traditionalist values of marriage but dread the concept of being the center of attention and if i'm being completely honest, large family affairs are not always a thought of a dreamy occasion.
After hours of googling and researching I've learned that eloping isn't the only option if you don't want the whole traditional production (COVID or not) - there is also Minimony, Microweddings, OH and my favorite the Sequel Wedding.
I'm leaning towards a Sequel Wedding (two part wedding) But still a lot is involved in going this route, like the wedding ceremony location and the wedding reception location - two venues, two guest lists, and more coordination (and cost) in general. But it gives me that smaller more intimate wedding ceremony that I want while also being able to have our friends involved to share our marriage celebration at a later date and venue.
Anyone else on board?
If you plan to do a Sequel Wedding here are some steps to planning:
After your 'minimony' (Mini First Celebration), continue prepping for your sequel wedding. Having a minimony allows you to legally tie the knot and then bring your original wedding vision to life.
I love these eight ideas for your part II wedding (' Wedding Reception'):
Decorate your venue with large-scale prints from your minimony
Show your minimony video
Create a video montage of all the congratulatory messages you received following part I
Wear the same outfits (or take the opportunity to show-off a new wedding dress/suit!)
Repeat your vows in front of a larger group of guests (but with fewer nerves this time)
Ask your friends who couldn't attend part I to stand up and give a blessing to your union
Incorporate a few of your wedding gifts. If you received fancy stemware as a wedding gift, fill them with champagne and add them to your part II sweetheart table
Give a speech listing the best things about being married. Now that you've had a chance to live the married life ahead of your big celebration, you probably have wisdom to share
If anyone needs help with planning/venue selection/ catering/ coordinating/ overall feedback/ ANYTHING... I am so happy to help as this journey was completely new for me and I have learned so much from it already.
Cheers,
Comentarios
